A reading outside its range: what you did, and when

Checked by

How to use it

Write each unit’s target range at the start of the week, the one your food safety plan sets for it. Take a reading at about the same times each day, write it in, and initial it. If a reading is out of range, write down what you did about it and when.

A sheet only helps if someone fills it in. Two readings a day take a minute each, so keep the gaps rare, and when one can’t be avoided, write down why.

Questions owners ask

Is this an official form?

No. It’s a blank sheet to write your readings down. Your food safety plan says what you need to record and how often.

What temperature should each unit be?

Use the target your food safety plan sets for that unit, and write it in the “Target range” column so whoever takes the reading can see it.

Can I add more fridges?

Yes. Print a second sheet, or write extra units in the margin.
